MSCM Limited (“MSCM”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who contacts us or uses this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect through mscmltd.co.uk, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

MSCM Limited is the data controller for this information. We are a company registered in England, based at Coronation Road, Cressex Business Park, High Wycombe, Bucks HP12 3TA.

What information we collect

We only collect personal information that you choose to give us. There are three ways this happens on the website:

1. Enquiry and quotation requests. When you use the “Request a Quote” form or the enquiry drawer on a product page, we ask for your name, work email address, company and (optionally) your telephone number, together with details of the application or project you are enquiring about.

2. Datasheet and document downloads. Some technical datasheets ask for your work email address and company before download, so we know who is using our technical documentation and can answer any follow-up questions.

3. The contact form. When you send us a message we collect your name, email address, company, chosen department and the content of your message.

We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send, any special category data (such as health information) or payment card details through this website.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use the information you provide to:

  • respond to your enquiry, prepare quotations and provide technical support;
  • send you the technical document you requested;
  • manage the resulting sales relationship and keep records of what was discussed and supplied;
  • occasionally send relevant technical or product updates, where you have agreed to receive them.

Our lawful basis for responding to enquiries and managing quotations is legitimate interests — you have contacted a supplier expecting a reply, and handling that enquiry is necessary to do business with you. Where we later send marketing communications that you did not specifically request, we rely on your consent, and every such message includes an unsubscribe option.

Who has access to it

Enquiries are handled by MSCM’s sales and engineering teams. We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate the website and hold enquiry records:

  • Netlify — hosting, and the form service that receives submissions from this website.
  • Supabase — the database behind our internal enquiry-management system.
  • Microsoft 365 — company email.

These providers process data on our instructions only. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and quotation records for as long as needed to manage the commercial relationship, and afterwards for a reasonable period to meet our contractual, accounting and quality-system obligations. Enquiries that do not lead to business are reviewed periodically and deleted when no longer relevant. Marketing contacts are removed as soon as you unsubscribe.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. This website uses the minimum possible number.

Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the site to function and do not need your consent. On this website they are limited to the secure session cookies used when a member of staff or a client signs in to our customer support portal at /support. Public pages of the website set no cookies of their own.

Analytics cookies (optional). With your permission we use analytics to understand which pages and technical guides are useful — for example how visitors reach the site and which datasheets are downloaded. Where these are enabled you will see a banner asking for your consent, and no analytics cookies are set unless you accept. Depending on configuration these may include Google Analytics (Google LLC) and the LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Ireland), which help us measure the effect of our own content and advertising.

You can change your mind at any time — see below — and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although strictly necessary cookies are needed for the sign-in area to work.

Links to social media. Our pages link to MSCM’s LinkedIn profile. Following such a link takes you to a third-party website governed by its own privacy policy; simply having the link on our page does not share your information with them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy; have inaccurate information corrected; ask us to delete information we no longer need; object to or restrict our use of it; withdraw consent to marketing at any time; and ask us to transfer information to another provider where applicable.

To exercise any of these rights, email sales@mscmltd.co.uk or write to us at the address above and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Keeping information secure

The website is served over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to enquiry records is restricted to staff who need it, protected by individual accounts. Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and independently audited, and information handling forms part of that system.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example if we introduce new tools or services. The current version always appears on this page.
